Role Description The Interior Design Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Walnut Creek, CA. This role focuses on providing personalized interior design consultations to clients, including space planning, furniture selection, and coordinating finishes, fabrics, and accessories that align with Ethan Allen’s brand standards. The consultant will greet and engage customers in the Design Center, build lasting client relationships, and guide them through the entire design process from concept to completion. Daily responsibilities include creating design presentations, using design and visualization tools, preparing detailed proposals, and ensuring accurate ordering and follow-up. The role also entails meeting sales goals, maintaining showroom standards, and collaborating with team members to deliver an exceptional client experience. Qualifications Strong Communication skills, including active listening, presentation, and clear written and verbal interaction with clients and team members. Proven Customer Service abilities, with a focus on building relationships, managing client expectations, and delivering a high-quality client experience. Professional Interior Design skills, including space planning, color coordination, familiarity with design principles, and proficiency with design software or visualization tools. Sales expertise, including consultative selling, supporting revenue goals, and comfort working in a goal-oriented retail or design environment. Knowledge of Furniture, including styles, construction, and finishes, and the ability to recommend products that meet clients’ functional and aesthetic needs. Relevant education such as a degree or certification in Interior Design, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
