Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription: Job Overview: A Foundry Supervisor manages melting, casting, and pouring operations, and ensures shift safety, productivity, and quality. They oversee hourly operators, troubleshoot equipment bottlenecks, enforce compliance, and bridge communication between daytime management and overnight staff. Core ResponsibilitiesShift Leadership: Coordinate and manage hourly foundry operators. Lead pre-shift safety/toolbox talks and delegate daily casting/furnace assignments.Production Oversight: Monitor equipment (e.g., induction furnaces, molding lines) to ensure casting processes meet specifications and quotas. Minimize scrap rates and adjust production workflows to accommodate priority orders.Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to PPE standards, OSHA regulations, and company safety protocols. Ensure the 5S/housekeeping standards are maintained on the floor at all times.Quality Control: Ensure operators follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during melting, pouring, and pit practices. Verify that casted products meet tolerance and customer requirements.Training & Development: Onboard new operators, conduct training on correct work methods, and cross-train team members on different foundry machines.Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate shift logs, record downtime and production metrics, and conduct performance or disciplinary discussions when necessary.Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
